Obituary of Evelyn M. Conti

Evelyn Mary Caldwell Conti, of Riverside, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence on Sept. 13, 2017. Age 76. Born in Phila., PA, Evelyn graduated from Riverside High School in 1959. She was a devoted member of Jesus, The Good Shephard Parish, St. Peter’s Church, Riverside.. She was an administrative assistant for 19 years at the NJ State Dept. of Corrections.
Evelyn was loved by all who knew her, especially her family, friends and colleagues. She was the “Go to Person” for arranging parties and celebrations and was always eager to assist anyone who asked for support, comfort and understanding and confronting problems. No problem was too big for her to take on. During her free time, she enjoyed traveling.
Evelyn was pre-deceased by her loving parents, Franklin M. and Evelyn Caldwell and her siblings, Robert H., John F. and Eleanor Caldwell. She is survived by her loving children, Denise Conti Westenberger and Joseph Conti, who were her dedicated caregivers during the several months of her heroic battle with cancer. She is survived by her grandchildren, Tanya and Heather Westenberger, siblings, Franklin J. “Jack” (Patricia), Donald E. (Marie) Caldwell, Patricia A. Collinsworth, Marianne Ptaszenski (Michael), several nieces, nephews and her special friend Elizabeth “Beth” Robbins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Evelyn’s Memorial Service on Saturday, Sept. 30 with a Memorial Service at 2 pm at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside, NJ 08075. Friends may pay respects to the family from 12 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
