Obituary of Edward Rennis Mathews

Edward R. Mathews of Moorestown passed away quietly in the company of loved ones at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. He was 89. Born in Camden, NJ he was the son of Rennis and Evelyn Mathews. He spent his entire employment career as a technician for the Bell Telephone Company, later Verizon. He was also a US Navy veteran of WW II. Edward was the great uncle of Jennifer Leitinger of Mt. Laurel and Thomas Miller (Adam) of Abington, PA. He was also the great great uncle of Abigail and Ethan Leitinger. Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside. A brief remembrance service will be held at 11 am with interment immediately following at Lakeview Cemetery in Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in the name of Edward R. Mathews who was a prolific donor himself.
