(nee Phile) Norma P. Mohrmann, age 93, died peacefully at home on March 17, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Norma moved to Delanco with her family when she was 6 months old. She was an active member of the Dobbins Memorial Methodist Church her entire life, serving as Treasurer, Sunday school teacher and choir member. She loved to give hugs and was unofficially known as the "official church hugger". She was a life member of the Washington Fire Co. No.1, where she was affectionately known as “Mom”, and the Ladies Auxiliary, She was a Fire Police Officer and also served both organizations as Chaplain for more than 20 years. She was a former Treasurer of the Delanco Board of Fire Commissioners and she relished her role as “Mrs. Claus” at the annual Township tree lighting for many years. She was a member of the Delanco Senior Citizens Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and former member of the Delanco Board of Education, the Haddonfield Choral Society, the Lewis Shearer Chorale and the Cinnaminson Community Chorus. Before marriage, she worked at the S.L. Allen Company in Philadelphia and after raising her family, she returned to work in Accounts Receivable at the McMillan Publishing Company in Delran. Beloved wife of the late Elmer E. Mohrmann. Devoted mother of William E. (Elsie) Mohrmann of Catonsville, MD, Keith D. Mohrmann of Delanco, NJ and the late Dane R. Mohrmann. Mother in law of Judith Mohrmann Fulton of Mobile, AL. Dear sister of Anna E. Miller of Delanco, NJ and Ethel P. Shelton of Rome, GA. Loving grandmother of Amy, Marissa, Dane Jr., Christopher, Lisa, Laurel, James, Shirley, Bryan, Brie and Keith Jr. Great grandmother of 4 and great great grandmother of 3. Also survived by the extended family of Ceil and John VanEmburgh. You are invited to share your thoughts and fond memories with the family on Friday morning from 10-11 AM at the Dobbins Memorial Methodist Church, 330 Union Ave, Delanco, NJ 08075 followed by a service at 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dobbins Memorial Methodist Church at the above address or the Washington Fire Co. No. 1, 1800 Burlington Avenue, Delanco, NJ 08075. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chadwick Memorial Home, Riverside.
