Obituary of Mary Bernadette Sternotti

Mary Bernadette Sternotti, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and a lifelong resident of Burlington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 55. Mary was the heart of her family. She was the steady caretaker, guiding light and constant support. She selflessly cared for her parents through the years and her role in her nieces and nephews lives was far more than that of an aunt. Mary dedicated her life to her work at Carmen’s Answering Service, where she spent 27 years. She then devoted another 24 years to St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, serving as the head switchboard operator. Mary was more than just a colleague-she was a friend, a confidant and a source of light for many. She found joy in music, especially the songs of Elton John and Cyndi Lauper. More recently, she loved to dance and sing karaoke nights at the Tankard on Fridays with her partner Andy and their friends. She is survived by her devoted mother Bernadette: her brother Michael and his wife Jennifer, her beloved nieces Cynthia, Taylor, Madisyn, Julianna and her cherished nephew Austin. She is reunited in peace with her father Joseph, her brother Joe, her nephew Joey and her fiancé Allan. She will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to know her. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held Wednesday evening, April 23, 2025 from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster Street, Riverside.
