Obituary of James J. Keane

James J. Keane passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 83. Born in Riverside, James was a longtime resident of Delran. In his teens, James was a volunteer firefighter in Riverside before being drafted into the US Army. He proudly served his country and distinguished himself, receiving such recognition as the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross. After serving his country, James joined the Riverside Police Department, where he served for many years. James is predeceased by his parents Richard and Grace Keane. He is survived by his brother Richard F. Keane Jr. (Alice) and sister, Grace Keane-Kennedy. Also survived by 14 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday morning, June 3, 2025 from 9 am – 11 am at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster Street, Riverside, followed by a service at 11 am. Interment will take place at Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
