Irene E. Barbara (nee Vathis) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the age of 53. Born in Willingboro, Irene was a longtime resident of Somerdale. She was a member of the Somerdale Baseball/ Softball Association. She loved to build things, especially Legos. Irene was employed as a medical billing associate for Advocare of Glendora.
Beloved wife of 28 years to Martin Barbara. Devoted mother of Kaitlyn Pickens (Brandon) and Megan Prete (Anthony). Dear sister of Donna Cunningham (Joe), Terri Vathis (Dan) and Thomas Vathis Jr. Loving daughter of Ida Vathis and the late Thomas Vathis Sr. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Also missing her will be her loyal dog Suzie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Irene’s viewing Tuesday evening, March 12, 2024 from 4 pm -7 pm at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Jersey Breast Cancer Coalition, 78 S. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009. The family would like to extend an invitation to join them at the Delran Fire Company, 1020 S. Chester Ave., Delran for a luncheon.
