Obituary of Raymond Townsend Vanaman

Raymond Townsend Vanaman, August 25, 1922 was born in Cape May, NJ to Lillie (nee Fry) and Raymond Townsend Vanaman. Raymond died peacefully on January 17, 2015 and now resides with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – all those who believe on Christ’s Name will have the joy of seeing Raymond again in eternity (John 3:16 - 18). Raymond is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol Joy Vanaman whom he loved with all his heart; His oldest son’s family: Raymond Scott Vanaman (wife - Lora), granddaughters Rebecca and Rachel. Ray’s beloved grandson Scotty died tragically in 2013 who is survived by his children Zackary and Lucas; His youngest son’s family: Bryan Lippincott Vanaman (wife - Patricia), grandchildren Adam, Benjamin, Daniel, and Evelyn. Brother-in-law: Irving Wayne Lippincott (wife - Anne). For now, we will miss you! Ray was known affectionately as “Pop” to many. He shared the admiration, freely giving an arm of love and words of encouragement! He worked in the Delanco Public Schools from 1950 – 1990 and tirelessly served his church, country, community, and friends through scouting, teaching, coaching, and many, many uncelebrated acts of service. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Friday evening (23rd) from 6pm -8pm and Saturday Morning (24th) from 9am -10am at the CHADWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 154 Webster St. Funeral service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment: Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. Donations to Dobbins United Methodist Church Memorial Fund are welcomed.
