Obituary of Donald Albasi

Don passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Easter Day, April 1, 2018 at Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro. Age 87 years, 22 days. Born In E. Patchogue, NY, Donald’s life’s journey took him from NYC to West Virginia (twice) and then to Norfolk VA, Malvern, PA, Cinnaminson, Medford Lakes, Milford Delaware and finally to Riverside, NJ where he has been a resident for the last 16 years.

He was a graduate of  Davis & Elkins College, Elkins, WV where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. Donald proudly served his country as an Officer in the United States Navy during the Korean War period. He was employed for 25 years as a service engineer at Ford Motor Co. and was owner of D.A. & S. Automotive in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Donald was a charter member of The American Hotrod Association (AHRA) and a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), he also held a private pilot license, and was a member of Thomson Masonic Lodge # 340 F&AM, Paoli, PA.

Beloved husband of 63 years, 1 month and 20 days to Mildred C. (nee Carter). Devoted father of Walter R. (MJ Adams), Virginia Kassa and Robert (Elizabeth). Loving grandfather of Jonathan and Kelly Kassa, Matthew, Alyson, Joshua (Megan), Kyle and Ian Albasi. Great grandfather of Angelina Albasi and Chase McCann.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10 am to 11am at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 324 Bridgeboro Rd, Riverside, NJ 08075, followed by a service at 11.

Interment at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Stephen’s Church at the above address.
