Obituary of Nicholas Joseph Wintjen
On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, loving son and unforgettable friend Nicholas Joseph Wintjen of Riverside, New Jersey passed away at the age of 22.
Nick was born on December 28, 1996 in Willingboro, New Jersey to Ronald Wintjen and Dawn Cannon. He attended Lenape high school where he made many friends and put smiles on all the faces of his classmates and peers. Nick was a go getter, a shoot for the stars type of guy. He was the text book definition of humble, he cared for everyone that came in contact with him. There was no denying He had a genuine heart and a boyish smile you couldn’t forget.
Nick has a long list of hobbies and passions. Nick loved lottery tickets, he loved them so much that his mother let her little sidekick scratch them since he was only three years old. Nick always watched hockey. You would always see him rooting for his favorite team, The Philadelphia Flyers. When Nick wasn’t watching hockey or scratching lottery tickets you could catch him fishing with his family and friends. Fishing wasn’t only a hobby for Nick, it was a skill because he sure was the best. Nick was a big time Car enthusiast. He loved to build cars, and he loved to go fast. He even has a Euro Car Club made up of his best friends. Anyone that has met Nick knows that he has a pure soul, had the kindest heart, and the most humble personality. It didn’t matter if you knew Nick for one day or one year, he wanted the best for everyone he met.
Dedicated son of Dawn M (née Cannon), Ronald W Wintjen and step mom Cathy Walker. Loving grandson of Carmela McCarthy and Beverly Wintjen. Nephew of Frank McCarthy (Jackie) and Fred McCarthy (Virginia), Randy Wintjen (Kathy) and Sandy Orio ( Tony). Cousin of Jack, Ryan, Charlotte and Phoebe McCarthy,Adrian Orio, Anthony Orio, Andrew Wintjen and Will Wintjen. Step brother of Ross and Steven Walker.
