Obituary of James R. McHugh

James R. McHugh died peacefully May 9, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 8, 1936 in Riverside, New Jersey, the son of Joseph and Emma (Silbert) McHugh. Jim graduated from Riverside High School, Class of 1955. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Ann Gray and they settled in Delran, New Jersey. Jim retired from PSE&G following a 42 year career. He was a devoted member of the Perpetual Adoration Apostolate at the Church of the Holy Name, Delran, and a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus, St. John Neuman Council 1436. Jim cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, enjoyed dancing and traveling, and was an avid gardener and greenhouse enthusiast. Jim is predeceased by his beloved wife Betty Ann (Gray) McHugh, dear parents Joseph and Emma (Silbert) McHugh, and cherished brother Joseph P. McHugh. Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie (Wojciechowski) McHugh, loving sons Jim and his wife Kathy, Mark and his wife Linda, both of Delran, Joseph and his wife Lonna of Medford Lakes, and Patrick and his wife Ani, also of Delran, and eleven beloved grandchildren, Jimmy, Mark, Caitlyn, Jessica, Casey, Patrick, Joey, Matthew, Brennan, Gavin McHugh, and A.J. Merrill, brother-in-law George Gray, sister-in-law Joan McHugh, along with cherished nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call Tuesday evening, May 12th from 6 - 9 PM at Chadwick Memorial Home 154 Webster St. Riverside, NJ 08075. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Holy Name Church (Resurrection Parish) 260 Conrow Rd., Delran, NJ 08075. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery in Riverside following Mass. Donations in Jim's memory may be made to Resurrection Parish at the above address.
