Obituary of Joseph John Gilbert III

Joseph John Gilbert, III, beloved son, father, brother and uncle passed away at his home last week at the age of 73. Joseph was born on January 29, 1948 in Riverside to Mary and Joseph Gilbert. He grew up in Riverside and was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1967, where he had many happy memories of his classmates, especially his high school sweetheart Joanne Rosati. He proudly served his country in the U. S Army. Joseph is remembered by his loved ones as a jokester, a hard worker, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Gilbert, grandson Hayden Barrett, niece Nikki Karaska. Surviving are Joseph’s daughters, April Klein and Holly Baker, sisters, Marilyn Gilbert, Valarie Mazur and Beverly Gilbert-Lang, grandchildren, Hannah Barrett, Ashton Barrett, Carson Klein, Henry Hall, Nova June Baker, Kailyn Baker and Andrew Baker. A special appreciation and thank you to niece Renee Lowden, whose love, loyal commitment and tireless attention to his needs brightened her uncle Joe’s final years. Relatives and friends are invited to Joseph’s visitation Friday morning May 7, 2021 from 11 am until 12 noon at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside. Service 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson.
