Q: How did you meet Irene?
A: Irene!!!! We worked at Zurburg Hospital together. My children used to beg her to make them taco salad. She was ny absolute favorite coworker. I've search for her for years and decided to try again. Rest Well good friend. We had so much fun when we were connected. I am so sad that we didn't get to eat and laugh like old times. I still loved you. You were such a good friend.

Irene was a sweet down to earth woman. She had a heart of gold coming from a family that taught her kindness , loving and supportive life. Growing in Riverside Park was like a little family there Like the tree we had at the park that protected us. 4 years ago she took the material I had and made masks because we were in covid. She sewed them for family friends and sold them. Protecting others again. I still have some left. Always a smile and warm heart showed through. Irene you will be missed. May God bless you in heaven and keep you safe. You'll be a wonderful angel to watch over people.

Gosh, where to begin. I met Irene in 2007, and we had a "sister" co-worker relationship for a decade at Mid-Atlantic Retina. Over those years, we sat 4 feet apart and had no choice but to be close..and we were. From laughter, to tears, to saving my life because she had, Irene showed up for everything for everyone! She never missed a beat, or a softball game, or family/friends/strangers in need, or a holiday, or a good sale (lol)....the woman is a hero to echo off Kaitlyn...truly. We maintained our friendship over the years off and on which was ok...we reached out when we needed to. When I learned she was sick, years ago, my heart broke. To imagine Irene having to slow down her very fulfilled life seemed impossible. I commended her then and I commend her still now. She took this diagnosis head-on and turned around and consoled ME for her being sick. She stayed positive and taught me what that looked like...the unimaginable and Irene was still smiling and simply did what she had to do. A HERO, AN AMAZING WOMAN AND MOTHER=Irene Barbara!
Irene, while I haven't come to terms with you being gone, I know you have. You gave this life everything you had.
My heart breaks for you girls, but I know, in due time, you'll know what to do because she is your Mommy and taught you how to be strong like her. You girls are the light in her soul.
Marty, she talked about how devoted and supportive you were, please don't forget that...she was proud to be your wife. She was proud to be what she was to each of you.
Ida, she loved the days you went to treatment with her because she felt like it was a girls day out and enjoyed laughing with you.
Irene, heaven gained an angel but, my friend, the imprints you've left on those who've met you will never be forgotten. May you rest in eternal peace..until we meet again. I love you!
