Obituary of Nicholas Rosati
Please share a memory of Nicholas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Nick Rosati, 97 years young, passed away on August 7, 2024 at his home in Delran.
Beloved son of the late Nicola and Mary Rosati.
Nick was a loving husband to his predeceased wife Rita Rosati (née Chrzanowski). Nick was also a loving father to his four children Sharon Lee Rossi (and Richard) Marita Rosati and Nick Rosati (and Marybeth) predeceased by daughter Nicolette Russo (and Gary) . Nick was also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, all whom he loved to high five or fist bump and a give a “couple bucks” to. He always searched out the grandkid’s games and recitals to cheer them on.
Nick was a meat cutter and made friends everywhere he went. He charmed and dazzled people with his jokes, smiling eyes and lovable chuckle.
Almost daily, Nick could be found at his favorite hangout, the Delran Coffee shop, greeting familiar faces with a “hey girlie” or a, “yo buddy,” while enjoying his coffee, black with two sugars. If he wasn’t at his hangout, or sitting on his beloved porch, Nick loved to drive around and surprise his friends and family throughout the day. He would happily share an ice cream or L&M donut, watch the game or play cards over dinner. Sometimes you’d open your door and be surprised to find him parked in your driveway napping in his car, sunbathing in your patio chair, watering your flowers or watching the birds.
Nick loved all animals; feeding deer and pigeons was a responsibility he took personally. He was proud to show his friends his favorite feeding spots; deer would recognize his car and walk up to get apples; pigeons flew down as soon as he turned into the parking lot. Occasionally he’d catch one and take it to his friend’s coup!
Nick always looked forward to his monthly poker games in his basement, with his buddies and homemade meatballs in the crockpot. Nick loved his buddies dearly, proudly saying, “They’re all good guys,” and that they’ve been playing, “over forty years”. In addition to poker, Nick loved to play horseshoes or sit with friends at BBQs. He was always up for a trip to the casino or a meal out morning, afternoon or night.
Nick also enjoyed his friends at Adult Day Care and telling stories with all his aides who took good care of Nick.
Nick was proud to be Italian and proud to be a U.S. Marine Veteran, both of which he flew flags at his home and wore pins on his vest. When it came to his family he loved them all. The youngest of nine, he excitedly reminisced about his siblings and his childhood; swimming across the Delaware River, tending to his rabbits or delivering warm bread before school
Nick counted his blessings every day. Nick was such a special friend, Pop Pop and Dad. We all love you, miss you, and will live our lives to make you proud. Rest peacefully, God bless.
