Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Katherine S (Kitty) Walker died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 11. She was born Aug. 25, 1931 in Riverside. She was married to Kenneth E Walker on July 7, 1951, who preceded her in death in 2008.
She graduated from Riverside High School in 1949 and moved to Cinnaminson in 1960 to a house that she and Kenneth built. She was an avid reader and a prolific knitter of scarves and afghans that she gave to family, friends and charities. Kitty had a lifelong love of history, especially the Civil War, as well as tales of exploring. She greatly appreciated nature, bodies of water, zoos, and birds, particularly owls. She enjoyed traveling, notably to Hawaii and Europe. She liked playing cards and games. She joined a monthly gathering of her “high school ladies” as often as she could.
Surviving are her children Jeanette (Robert Mitchell) Walker of Aberdeen, NJ; Ronald (Jeanine) Walker of Cinnaminson and Karen (Matthew) Yoder of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren Kaitlynn and Julianna Yoder and Collin Walker; her sister Eileen Grevė; step-sister Betty (James) Anholt; step-brother Richard (Barbara) Frazier; half-brothers James (Sherry) Springer; William (Rebecca) Springer and Hank Springer.
