Anthony Cannone, of Delran, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Age 81. Anthony was the devoted husband of 60 years to Dolores (Day), loving father of Richard (Kathy) Cannone, Debra (Michael) Medeiros and James (Donna) Cannone. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle, Christine, Lauren, Phillip and Kellie and his great grandchild, Caden. He was the dear brother of Jennie (the late Donald) Urban, George Cannone (Lorraine Campo), and Helen (Joseph) Janney. Also survived by nephews and their families and special pet Annie. He was the loving son of the late Domenico and Helen Cannone. Anthony began his career with Cannone & Giampaolo and then went with McVaugh Construction as a mason. He retired from Holy Cross High School where he did maintenance work and especially loved being outside using a tractor to keep the grounds neat. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1436 for over 15 years where he enjoyed helping with the Christmas baskets and other activities. Anthony was also a member of the Delran Seniors. He was a member of Resurrection Parish and helped decorate the churches during the Easter and Christmas seasons. He was always ready to volunteer when someone needed help. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside, NJ 08075 and Friday morning from 9-10 am. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am at Resurrection Parish, St. Casimir Church, Riverside. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Resurrection Parish, 260 Conrow Rd., P.O. Box 1099, Delran, NJ or the charity of the donor’s choice.
